Enabling Remote Survivable Session Manager (BSM)

As you may know, in many instances, session manager is not enabled during template installation for one reason or another - typically it is because there is no need for SM or there is no system manager on the network.

On the LSP, the bsm is running but the application shows stopped.

How can bsm be started after the template has been installed - other than removing the template and starting from scratch?

    Thanks

Have you found out how to activate this application? I am in the same scenario and need to get my BSM activated. Thank you

Though I've been unable to get BSM to connect to SMGR yet, my fix was to remove the LSP template and reinstall it enabling BSM during the setup. This works OK as long as the CM template wasn't deleted or, you have an easy way to copy the template back to the server.

hi guys, do you run ./install.sh on the BSM service pack (currently SP7) installation?

I tried it several times but without effect.

            Did someone solved this problem?

              Hello,

The only option is to reinstall the template. BSM cannot be activated at later point if its not installed in the beginning.

              Thank you,

BSM is always installed with the survivable remote template; it just may not be initialized as chosen by the installer. Activate the BSM by entering the SIP details on CDom's "Network Configuration" screen. Then, either SSH or xmconsole into the BSM virtual machine and execute start -a to bring up watchdog.

Reinstalling the template is not necessary.
