    Duplicate Mailbox Number

    When trying to create a NEW mailbox in Avaya Aura® Communication Manager Messaging Federal Market, It keeps kicking back error

    Mailbox Number: Duplicate extension - already in use
    (AE_DUPEXT)

    This extension is not in use as a mailbox, is there some way to find out why CM thinks it is in use?

    Good day,

    if you are unable to view the reported mail box in CMM, then this is possibly a corruption. even though the user might not be visible , it could still exist in the internal ldap database.

    you can try running mailbox/Subscriber audit and if it does not work , you may need to raise a Ticket for this as this need root level access to clear up the unwanted users from ldap.
