Direct SIP integration between CM and AAM

I have CM 6.2 with AAM 6.2 using direct integration and all is working well except for when the AAM tries to call out the AAM thinks the call out was successful but the call is never made. When tracing the SIP trunk it shows the call being made but then it is grabbing another channel on the SIP trunk rather than grabbing an outside trunk.

    any ideas?

The routing of the 2nd leg(outbound call) depends on what digits are being sent to the CM by AAM. In the SIP messages, check the Request URI of the INVITE from AAM and see if the number being sent by AAM is correct and includes any ARS/AAR prefix as required(weather the prefix is required is determined by how you are routing the call in CM). Based on the number you are receiving, you can check the routing entries in the CM to determine if the CM is routing the number correctly.

If you see that AAM is sending the number correctly with the right prefixes and the CM is administered correctly to route the call on the external trunk but you still see that the CM is sending INVITE to AAM, then i suspect that this could be a software bug. Opening up an SR with the Avaya CM backbone team might be helpful in determining the cause of the problem
