    G450 Unregister Gateway for maintenance

    Hi,

I would like to know if it's possible to force unregister a media gatewayfrom CM for maintenance purposes. We have several gateways on a location and I would like to ensure that CM does not use a particular gateway whilst we undertake maintenance operations.

    Regards,

You can remove the mgc list from the gateway , then just re-add when you have completed the admin

      Hi Richa164,

Thanks for the response, I guess it's also possible to create a dummy network region not connected to any other NR and assing temporarily the media gateway, however I'm not sure if any active calls would drop as soon the change is made in either solution.

      Thanks

Depending if you have local trunks on the gateway you could camp on busy out the trunks first located in that gateway. You could also play with a different NR for the gateway and disable NR registration.

            Easiest way to de-register GW.

The easiest and fastest way that we un-register a GW is to do a cha media ### is SAT. And then notate what the serial number is and then change the serial number.

This will cause the GW to become unregistered quickly. In addition, the ability to add it again is relatively simple as just putting the correct serial number in.

yes but if he has any live calls depending on the call type they may well drop in the change serial number scenario
