Changing host name on a TN2602 medpro

I am renaming our TN2602 medpro cards in our S8800 CM 6.3.5 PBX. I understand changing the hostname on a medpro within the pbx is not service affecting however I am unsure if when the network engineers change the host name on their side to match the new host name in the pbx will be service affecting. The IP address is remaining the same. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Changing host name on u r DHCP is not service impacting. if you want to change the host name in CM (i.e in list node names),

    - you need to create a new node-name with same IP ,
    - then disable the IP_interface first , save the page
    - change ip-interface, assign new node-name and enable the interface

MEDPRO will be down when you disable this interface.
