What version of CM and what is the far-end gateway? You can create a SIP link directly between CM and the far-end but you'll have less inter-op limitations with a Session Manager in between. Simplified instructions are:

    - Add a node-name for the far-end
    - Add a SIP signaling group specifying layer 4 info (port & protocol), SIP domain, network region (codec), and near/far end nodes (near end is procr or a CLAN)
    - Add a tie SIP trunk group specifying number of channels and a number of finer settings you'll have to use your best inference on or leave default
    - Add this trunk into the signaling group form for channel selection
    - Use the UDP/AAR tables in concert with a route pattern containing the SIP trunk created previously to send calls to the far-end
    - Perform the equivalent of this on the 3rd party gateway
