1xM - Blackberry with NO BES

    Hi
we have CM6/1xM5.2 and can use 1xM clients on iPhone / Nokia etc. but can’t seem to get it working on a Blackberry Curve, when logging on via the app on the phone it comes back almost immediately saying “server unreachable. Check that the URL or IP address is correct”. We know the URL/IP address is correct. We have also spoken to the carrier (Vodafone UK) and confirmed the APN settings on the phone. Avaya have said that 1xM will work without a BES server but can’t really confirm as such.

Having successfully implement 1xM on many occasions the only thing I can assume is that you have to have a BES server (either enterprise or carrier) when connecting to Blackberry

Has anybody in the UK had a similar problem? If so how did you manage to solve this

Looking forward to hearing from someone

    Thanks

Yes It does work with out BES. It may be a fact that the service provider might have some of the ports blocked. Following is the list of the ports used by One-XM. Please confirm with the service provider if they are open and also check customer's internal firewall rules.
