CM Duplex template

Hi Experts,

I wish to inquire, what is the definition of CM duplex template? Why would you primarily choose it?

Is this the template you would choose if you want to have High availability?

Yes, HA. There are two main servers in active/standby mode connected via a duplication link for synchronization and memory shadowing.

I'm trying to configure a CM duplex in the main site and another CM duplex as ESS in other site, when I do the "add survivable-processor XXX"
i have this options: duplex-ess, lsp, simplex-ess

which is the best option for me??

Hi moyaw,
Its depands upon your hardware at Disaster recovery site.
if you two 8xxx servers the you can make ESS in duplex state which i think best .
And as far as concern with Simplex ESS you can made it by choosing Simplex Template and if we talk about the LSP S8300 can be work here as Local Survival.

CM Duplex Template

Hi smoodliar,

Avaya Duplex Template mean there are two server works as in Active - Standby Functionality.
They sync with each other and one of them act as master/active and other act as slave/standby.
Sync. can be on hardware basis or on Software Basis.

I have all my infrastructure in vmware so in the main site I have two CMs as duplex working fine, in other site I also have vmware so I have two CMs as duplex but i want this site to be an ESS, is this ok? do I choose ESS Duplex in the survivable procesor? How can I configure that?

You would configure the duplex ESS just as you would the duplex main, except the server roles are survivable cores. Add a survivable processor into CM of type dupex-ess. Also, the MID for the ESS should be 2.

what config do I put in Server A y Server B? each CM of the ESS duplex?
