    Session Manager Adaptations.

We have a requirement to perform some digit manipulation to incoming DDI numbers within Session Manager - for instance convert a DDI ending in 5050 to route to 5488 (of which there is a SM dial pattern defined).

I've played with adaptations but they just don't seem to take any effect. We are using System / Session Manager 6.3... I suspect the problem may be that the adaptation isn't applied to a SIP entity, however surely the adaptation needs to be applied to Session Manager, in which case there is no option on the SIP Entity parameters to apply an adaptation...

The attached screenshot illustrates the Adaptation I've created.

Anybody any ideas, the admin documentation is fairly scant and not helping me much.. I'm not sure if I'm heading in the right path...

If it helps to explain the problem another way, I'm trying to achieve what the IDC table accomplishes on a CS1k.

Correct, adaptations cannot be applied to SM entities. From what you're describing, the digit manipulation must be an egress adaptation applied to the CS1K entity. This means SM will manipulate the defined digits after routing decisions are complete.

Thank you mlombardi1 for pointing me in the right direction - it's working now. I was wrongly assuming that the digit manipulation took place BEFORE the routing decisions were made. Thanks for your help, it all makes sense now
