    ASA for CM 7

    Hello,

We are transitioning from Definity G3r11 to Aura 7.
I understand that you can use Avaya Site Administrator to administer CM7.

What version of ASA should I download and install?
Does the new ASA use SSH? or will I have to enable telnet on CM7

    Thank you for your help,

Latest version of ASA is 6.0 SP13 and it will work with Aura 7, although I only use ASA if I need functions such as reporting or find/replace. I SSH via Putty for normal administration.

Thank you for the response. I'm just used to using ASA, but putty should probably be a quicker tool to use. I'll try setting it up and see how it works. I would love to find a Mac solution too. Thanks again for your time.

While at IAUG Engage Orlando in June it was discussed that System Manager is the now and future of system administration. System Manager is the https web browser portal to Sessoin Manager but you can also administer CM and Messaging in there. I still prefer ASA for the time being hahaha ... change is hard. We were advised ASA will not be improved / updated by Avaya going forward

I've heard the same thing about System Manager & ASA. I'm trying to use System Manager as much as possible. I do like the fact that you have everything tired together... and SM talks to CM and AAM... BUT... as a new user, the web response and button clicks respond strangely... and I'm never really sure (would you like to remain on the page or leave) and depending on your response it takes the change or not... but I'm still trying.

I have ASA tied to the new CM - only for quick reference and spot checks. I still have to use ASA to manage the G3r, so its easy to access. Running lists and displaying things ASA wins hands down... but again - System Manager has some nice features to.

I can't get PUTTY to work well.... but I just found a mac (putty) solution and I'll mess with it a little.

          Thank you for your input,
