My system is CM 3.1 with S8710 pair and a single S8500 ESS server at one location.
Three days ago I started getting alarms on my main server that say file sync failed for LSP/ESS. When looking at the File Synchronization Status Summary on the main server it says:
"status does not exist for lsp synchronization number 1"
In the maintenance web page for the ESS it showed only three lines for the File Sync summary that were similar to the one above.
After trying to manually save translations to the ESS a couple of times I elected to try a reboot of the ESS. The server came back up, but will still not sync with the main server pair, and now the web interface is borken. I can ping the ESS, I can telnet to the ESS, but no web interface. When I try to restart httpd from the command line I get:
"Starting httpd: httpd: bad group name apache
FAILED]"
In looking at the /etc/group file on the ESS it appears there may be some groups missing, at least when compared to the /etc/group file on the main server.
I am trying to determine now if the two issues (broken file sync and broken web interface) are related or if they are separate issues.
I would appreciate any help or even a general direction to go.
