SDM Upgrading SMGR from 7.0.1.3 to 7.1

SDM Client 7.1.3

Tried IE , Firefox and Chrome

Upgrade Management> Upgrade

When using the current SDM client 7.1.3 to upgrade an SMGR from 7.0.1.3 to 7.1, I'm adding in the SMGR 7.1 ova as well as the current data migration patch and the SMGR mandatory patch. I keep getting an error stating

Error: Patch File given is not a valid SMGR patch!

I've read through the steps several times in the SDM 7.1.3 document and it's too simple to be causing this error (see attached).

Anyone have any ideas?

The "mandatory patch" requested by SDM when deploying the SMGR OVA is the latest SMGR service pack for that load and not the migration patch. Try using the 7.1.3 bin file instead.

SDM is not very clear in what it asks for.
