    Fan speed - VSP7000

    Hi,

i have a VSP7000 and the fan is very very loud. Its the loudest device in our it-room.

Is there anywhere a setting for the fan-speed?
Via the EDM i see the temperature is 31°C and the Fan 1 to 4 is OK.

How can i make the vsp7000 quiter?

    Fan Tray is Loud

Do you have any other VSP unit where the FAN is not as loud as you are currently observing? What we are considering as loud may be is by design.
Still we can check few things.Cooling fan trays support hot-swap and are available in two models to support front to back,or back to front airflow modes. VSP 7K supports two fan trays, have you observed the the sound made by individual units. Is it same or one is somewhat less.
There are few best practices which would be good to recheck for the switch environment.
    • ambient temperature between 32°F and 106°F (0°C and 41°C)
    • relative humidity between 10% and 90% noncondensing
    • no nearby heat sources such as hot air vents or direct sunlight
    • no nearby sources of severe electromagnetic noise
    • no excessive dust
    • adequate power source within six feet; one circuit required for each power supply
    • at least 2 inches (5.08 cm) on all sides of the switch unit for ventilation
    • adequate space at the front and rear of the switch for access to cables
Also what is the LED status on the VSP unit. Have you observed any diag failure error?
