    distribution ip address does not work on dhcp clients in avaya 8180

    Good day!
    *
    Advice please on setting up distribution dhcp clients.
    *
    Now set avaya 8180 with 8120 points, get to the point address dhcp, setting a 8180 pick up and begin to broadcast wifi. But when you try to connect to the network clients can not get ip address.

    I think you mean to say the access points are assigned IP addresses but clients fail to receive IP address when trying to connect to the ssid.
    If the authentication configured on network-profile is open or web/captive portal authentication then a client will surely receive an IP address, however if you are using a layer 2 authentication like 802.1x (varios EAP types) or mac based authentication, you need to check if the authentication is successful as it is required before requesting an IP address.

    Below command will display wired to wireless vlan mapping on the WC8180
    #show wireless switch vlan-map
    If there is no vlan mapped in the above (check mobility vlan name and lvid fields) then you need to map it by #switch vlan-map <mobility vlan name> lvid <local vlan id>

    If the above does not help, check if a dhcp relay agent is required based on client vlan and its reachability to dhcp server.
    You may also refer to the Quick start guide available on support site.

    Thanks.

      you can check your mapping vlan by ( conf-wireless#switch vlan-map {mobility vlan name} lvid {your vlan id}

      i try it and its worked

        1. The first thing which u need to do is to check whether you are getting an IP address on the same VLAN while connected to a switch Physical port. This will make sure that the DHCP configuration for that VLAN is working fine.
        2. The second is like mentioned above by other friends, make sure that you have properly associated your VLAN to the SSID.
