how to delete a username (ERS 3549GTS)?

    Hi everyone,

I received a new Avaya Switch ( ERS 3549GTS) yesterday and I tried with the manual to create a local user on the switch using this command line :

    username "admin" "********" ro

It worked :-) I can have read access on the switch using this user admin

    My 2 questions are :

    - How can I delete it now? (I tried "no username" or "no cli" but there is nether the option to delete it.)

    - Also the default login for rw user is "RW". is it possible to change it?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

I think we can change the name of the user from RO and RW to a different name. But the levels can't be modified.

Setting the system user name and password using ACLI
Use the following procedures to set the system user name and password for access through
the serial console port and Telnet. This procedure supports only one read-only and one readwrite
      user on the switch.
      Procedure
      1. Log on to the Global Configuration command mode in ACLI.
      2. The username can be set with the following commands:
      • username <word> <ro | rw> - applies the setting to current running mode
      (standalone or stack)
      • username <word> stack <ro | rw> - applies the settings to entire stack
      • username <word> switch <ro | rw> - applies the settings to the base
unit of stack or to the unit in the stack to where the console cable and session
      is currently being executed
      • username <word> switch <all | 1-8> <ro | rw> - applies the
settings to specified units in the stack.
      • default username [switch [all | <1-8>] | stack] [ro |
rw] – applies the default settings

          Hi,

Thanks for your answers. I checked the document but that doesn't explain clearly how to delete this username.

Ma configuration is like this :

          ------------------------------

          cli password serial local
          cli password telnet local
          ! username "admin" "********" ro

          ------------------------------

And I would like to delete the line "username "admin" "*********" ro"

I'm french so maybe I didn't understand the document properly.
Is it about the "default" command I should use to do that?

          Thanks again for your help.

I m afraid, You dont have an option to delete the username, but u can rename to default or any other.
