Nortel 5530-24TFD Password Recovery

Hi,

We have inherited support of a Nortel network consisting (mainly) of 5530 series switches. The previous vendor, unfortunately, misplaced (read: did not document) the credentials for this switch.

We understand that there used to be a password recovery feature through Nortel that was based on switch serial numbers. As these switches are several years old and Nortel is no more, we are wondering what the procedures might be in order to gain access to the switches again as we are undergoing system wide network upgrades.

Connect to the local console and use Ctrl-C during the boot process.

Reinitializing the flash might solve your issue. Careful you might lost your advanced license if you have one. You'll have to regenerate it if that's the case.
