How to obtain newest BayStack 5510 firmware for a home lab?

    Dear forum members,

I am running a small networking/servers lab mainly for my experiments. I have recently obtained four (five, one dead) Nortel BayStack 5510-48t switches from eBay to be able to experiment with link aggregation on stacked switches. Till now, all my networking equipment was Cisco, but i did not want to invest too much for this.

How can i obtain the 6.6.1 firmware for these switches?

I am not a Nortel/Avaya customer and i am really surprised too see how complicated it is just to update the OS. Is there even a way how to obtain the newest OS for these old switches for free? Or for a fee which would not be higher than the 300$ which i paid for the 4 switches altogether?

Unable to obtain restricted software images without maintenace contract

    Hello.

Avaya currently does not offer or allow access to restricted software images posted on our support services site to individuals who do not have a relationship with Avaya, an Avaya Business Partner or Reseller. Maintenance services for both the hardware and software must be purchased in order to gain access to and obtain such software offerings.

Our apologies, but since you have acquired this equipment third party AS-IS and not through an approved Avaya reseller and further do not appear to have maintenance coverage we can not make such images available to you at this time.
