    Questions about VSP7000 switches

    Hi dear support,

In my company we are using 2 VSP7000 as a core stack.
SSH is ok but I am facing 2 small but disturbing issues on it :

    - When I SSH on it, I enter my credentials then I press "CTRL - Y" and then it is displaying the last login information

    "Last Login: FRI 2015-10-16 12:18:03
Failed retries since last login : 0

    Press ENTER to continue"

Is it possible like for the ERS 3500 switches to delete this information and to arrive directly to the prompt after doing CTRL - Y ?

    - My second problem is that when I enter "show run" command line (with putty with SSH) the configuration is displayed until the end in one shoot. It doesn't stop and I cannot control it.

so in order to see the config, I need to save it first and then open it with text editor.

If someone has an idea about how to solve those 2 issues I have, I'm very interesting :-)

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi eimbau,

The Login info screen cannot be turned off to my knowledge... Interestingly though our VSP7000s do not have that screen anymore - we are running 10.4 (edit: might have to do with us using Radius though).

As for the scrolling: you can set a terminal length. For some reason, yours seems to be set to 0 which means there won't be stops - it scrolls through without that "more" prompt.
you can eleviate this by using "terminal length 25" on the cli.

    Cheers

      Hi Tgruber.

      Thanks for your help.
you are right, the terminal lenght was set to 0. I modified it to 24 and that works .

Regarding the login info screen. We are running our 7024XLS with v10.3.
The problem with this is that we are using Cattools tool to automatically backup the configuration on our switches. that works pretty well for our endswitches (ERS 3549 GTS-PWR+) but with the VSP, it doesn't work due to this login info screen which requires to manually press "enter" before accessing to the prompt.

So does that login info still appear with v10.4 ? I cannot do the test at this moment.

      Thanks again Tgruber

        Hi eimbau,

i just tested it out here... bad news:
        * the ctrl-y screen always appears
        * the failed-logon-info-screen does not appear in 10.4 when using Radius

I just turned off radius on one of your 7ks, and the info screen reappeared.

        Cheers

        Thomas
