    Avaya 4850 GTS PWR+ Max Class 4 802.3at PoE Devices W/ 1 PSU?

I see in the installation guide that the Avaya 4850 GTS PWR+ 50 ports can support 802.3at 32.4W on each port with two power supplies installed. PoE power reduces to an average of 17.8W on each port with one power supply.

We have several Meraki MR34s and in our implementation they take an average of 11W each, as reported by Enterprise Device Manager. Our 4850 Switches have 1 1000W Power Supplies each.

Would it be possible to fully populate 48 PoE ports with 48 MR34s if they are only using 11W? Is there any logic in the switch that would recognize the number of Class 4 802.3at devices and deny power to certain APs based only on the max possible wattage requested rather than what's used?

    Thanks in advance!

Restrict the Meraki MR34 to 802.3af mode and you can power 48 of them of the Avaya switch with a single 1000W power supply
