Is DMCC Java SDK 5.2 compatible for AES 4.2.x?

    Hi All,

From Avaya compatibility information as quoted below, I understand that DMCC apps built with Avaya DMCC java SDK 4.2.x supports AES services 5.2.x

Compatibility with AE Services Release 4.2 Applications
All DMCC, Web Services, JTAPI and TSAPI applications created with the AE Services Release 4.2.x SDKs and client libraries will work seamlessly on AE Services Release 5.2 without the need to recompile code and without the need to replace any third-party library components.

Note: AE Services 4.2 DMCC applications must specify the 4.2 or earlier protocol version. If a protocol version is not specified, the server will default to 5.2 and the application may receive unexpected XML messages with added elements and/or receive new XML messages.

Will DMCC apps built with 5.2.x java SDK support or compatible with AES 4.2.x server?

Any SDK components provided would by default have a backward compability to work with previous versions. Application developed on top of 5.2 SDK should work with 4.2.x AES server. The problem here would be in case of any errors or issues you might not get support. Also if the application is developed with considering the advanced features of AES 5.2 like TTS, High Reliability and Session characteristics might not work with 4.2.
