Hi,

For baseload upgrade scenario on HA cms 16.3eg.b
day 1:- planning to upgrade secondary first
primary collects data.Primary cms nightly backup will be performed for the day.

day2 : secondary up collecting data;primary will be upgraded.

Now primary and secondary on same load.
Then pull data from secondary to primary.

Is this the better way to do it.
During this do we require manual switchover ,making secondary active?
How about the HA scripts?

any inputs will be greatly appreciated.

Your approach is correct.

Please make sure you have gone through below doc completely:

Switch over will be needed if you have any third party installed and need active CMS to provide feed or else will not be needed.

HA scripts should not impacted but as per doc, there may be possible customization impacts:
The software upgrade that you are installing could potentially impact system customization that was performed before this upgrade. For example:
● Custom reports
● LAN printer customization
● Work-force management interfaces
● Operational Analyst
