Hi,

after a migration from and older version of cms to recent cms16 version,data migration for 1 specific day is missing.my question is instead of doing a full maintenance restore from the latest maintenance backup tape.can we specifically restore that 1 particular day data from that particular day's backup tape if it's an incremental backup tape?if its not an incremental backup tape we need to do a latest full maintenance backup restore..or do we just need to run the r3 migrate only.?thankyou in advance.

Hi,

Which day data is mising? You must have migrated data from backup so need to see if data is there on old system. If it is not in backup, we will not get data on new system too.

If you are migrating data, restore cannot be used. Always you need to use r3mig option.

instead of using latest backup tape by mistake we used 2 days old backup tape and done the migration.Now we want those 2 days also.what is the option?again run r3migrate from latest tape right?

Yes, use r3mig with latest backup tape. Only perform migration for historical data.
