    Ec500

I'd swear I've set this up before, even though it's not nice to swear.
A while back I configured an off-pbx station as EC500, and assigned the station the lowest COR. It's a trick to intercept incoming calls from a specific outside number then route the call to nowhere. This is due to nuisance calls from this number.

I have this off pbx station set up:

Station Application Dial Phone Number Trunk Configuration
    Extension Prefix Selection Set
    5678 EC500 1 - 6312221234 ars 1

When a call comes into the pbx from 631-222-1234, I'm unsure if it's routed to 5678, but that's my recollection of how it should work.

Am I missing something or should this not work?

a much better way to do this is to use a vdn - vector and have a step if ani is in table 1 , goto step x , at step x have a disconnect statement.

then change vrt 1 , and add the numbers you wish to bar in that table.

"Better" is a relative term. Our system doesn't have the vrt feature.
The nuisance calls are from an autodialer, going to as many different extensions as it can, so blocking to a specific extension through a vdn won't help. The method I'm discussing works, just not in this pbx, so I'm wondering what I might be doing wrong. We've gotten it to work in another pbx, all calls to XXX-XXX-XXXX get rejected, regardless of what d.i.d. at the site is called. Maybe there's a feature missing in this system.
      Thanks.

OK maybe i am misunderstanding if you do not have VRT thats fine , but are you saying that calls come from the number you have configured in the ec500 form and ultimately you are routing them back to source??

If that`s the case there is no reason why that will not work , but where are you identifying the calling number in a vector ?

I got this to work by changing the configuration set -
Calling Number Style: pbx (instead of network).

We don't want or need the extension to cellular feature, just using it as a gimmick to deny a specific number from calling our site. Calls from that number will now get error tone.
          Thanks.
