    1416 Digital handset

    Hi, Can anyone help here.

I have been advised by our Avaya account manager to buy the Avaya 1416 handset as a replacement to the Callmaster V which has now been discontinued, however with the 1416 I cannot see any way of keeping the headset active so I can utilize the auto-answer feature as I do with the CM5.

If I try and configure a key as on the CM5 it just tells me that it's not supported on this type of model.

I'm have set the handset type to 2420 in CM as recommend in the documentation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The 1416 like the 2420 has a built in headset button - that is why you cannot administer a headset button on the phone. As long as the built in headset button is turned on and the field "Auto Answer" on the station form is set to either "all" or "acd", then calls should automatically come through the headset without any manual intervention.

This is my problem, on the 1416 phone there doesn't seem to be anyway to keep the headset button active

Thats my problem as well, and getting a lot of headache trying to work around this. Any help would be great, since my testing to figure this out is getting nowhere right now (think I just need to call it a night!).

        Thanks
