G650 sync source question

I have recently converted a system to G650 IP-connect from MCC's with CSS. I am trying to figure out if the IP-connected PN's need to have a sync source administered for each PN. The documentation that I have tells you how to add sync if you need to,but how do I determin if I need it? Also if I do sync PN's should they all be ds1's from the same service provider? Thank you.

With IP connected port networks, each port network needs its own sync source. You can either use the tone clock functionality on the IPSI or a T1/E1 as the sync source for each port network. As long as you are not doing FoIP, MoIP, TTY over IP or Video over IP, then the tone clock on the IPSI should be sufficient as your sync source.
