IPOCC Client - Backwards Compatibility?

My customer is upgrading from 9.0.7 to 9.1.7
To ease the transition I would like the agents to upgrade their client to the 9.1.7 version while the server is still on 9.0 - is the new client backwards compatible with no issue?

UI checks Version of Server components

The UI (classic UI) checks the versions of the server components.

The User Interface does not work, if the versions are different.
