    Avaya 1400 Series Digital Phones

    Hi All,
I have implemented 1408 digital phones sets with HP DL360G7 duplex servers running CM6. I have applied the latest available firmware to all media modules and phones as well. But I am facing following issues:
    > Echo on calls (both internal and external)
    > When user dials a no. on display, certain digits are either added or removed on random basis, and if i do a list trace, it shows that PBX is outpulsing those manipulated digits, however I havent programmed any digit manipulation. System is programmed to user simple ARS table for outgoing calls without digit manipulation. It happens on random basis, sometimes it outpulses the right dialed strings and most of the times it is adding and removing No.

    please help...

    regards

The phones are not working as designed. Please initiate a ticket with your local repair organization.

        Hands Free use?

I find that the 1400 series will fade or not send DTMF at all when in hands-free mode...it gets worse as a person dials faster (especially if the speaker is turned up). The reason for this you ask? 1400 series sets are 1/2 duplex in operation when in hands-free mode.....the speaker will fade or drop out completely if the volume is turned up WITH lots of background noise, some of which is the actual dialing of digits.

Please note: the digits are going out thru the system fine; trouble is the person doing the dialing does not hear the DTMF......so they end up miss-dialing! If the person dialing would look up and see their own call display, they would realize that all their dialed digits have been sent into the system.
