Same Extension number in 2 locations.

For a single pbx that is serving multiple locations. Avaya has a feature known as multi-location dial plan so that the same extension can be used in multiple locations.

Is there a similar features for multiple pbxs that are serving mulitple locations to have the same extension residing in both location A and location B. Exmaple location A has extension 1234 and location B has extension 1234.

If there is no similar feature, is there a way that i can achieve this?

All extensions in a CM system must be unique. Multi-location Dial Plan supports short code dialing of a within locations which is then built to a unique extension number in the CM system. For example, a user in location 10 with Prefix 222 dials shortcode x1000, CM builds 1000 to 2221000. If a user in location 20 with Prefix 333 dials shortcode x1000, CM builds 1000 to 3331000.

Two different CMs could both have 1000 defined as a station as 1000 would be unique to each CM. To dial between the two CMs, a user on CM A would need to dial a unique number to dial 1000 for a user on the other CM B. If Station 1001 on CM A dialed 1000 then it would ring x1000 on CM A. For Station 1001 to dial 1000 on CM B, then they would need to dial the unique number of 333-1000. If these are SIP phones served by the same System Manager but on different Feature/Evolution Servers, then the number has to be unique within System Manager as well. i.e. 222-1000 and 333-1000.
