    USB Port On 9611G

How do I enable the USB port on my 9611G set? I'm the system administrator, but can't seem to find out how to enable the prot in any documentation.

    Thanks

    Bob

One of the controls is in the 46xxsettings.txt file:
    ################## USB POWER SETTINGS #########################
    ##
    ## USBPOWER parameter is not supported by SIP phones.
    ##
    ## USB Power Control
    ## This defines a Control parameter to Power the USB interface.
    ## The values are as follows and the default value is 2.
    ## 0: Turn off USB power regardless of power source.
    ## 1: Turn on USB power only if Aux powered.
    ## 2: Turn on USB power regardless of power source.
    ## 3: Turn on USB power if Aux powered or PoE Class 3 power.
    ##
    ## SET USBPOWER 2

You can use the USB Companion Tool (https://support.avaya.com/css/appman...951823156840_4) to:
          - import contacts
          - import pictures
          - create a login profile

            Some more info

            Avaya one-X® Deskphone H.323 9608, 9611G, 9621G, and 9641G Administrator Guide
            http://support.avaya.com/css/P8/documents/100157597 (Page 163)

A USB device can be used to carry information to support the following usage profiles:

            - Mobility/Visiting User: The USB memory stick carries login credentials, contacts and/or digital pictures. Inserting a USB device will cause the phone to register with a login profile, allowing any 9600 Series IP telephone to become a personalized extension.

            - Deskphone Personalization: A USB memory stick supports import/export of contacts to/from a 9600 Series IP Telephone and/or display of digital pictures.

            - As of Software Release 3.0, one or more pictures from a USB flash drive device can be used as screen savers. The USB device may contain any number of .jpg or .jpeg files that can be used in place of a default or custom screen saver(s).

You can also connect a USB cup warmer :-)

            hope this helps.
