Avaya 1608 firmware upgrade to support SIP technology

Hi,

We are using around 50 Avaya 1608 IP phones in our office.

We want to use SIP technology with these phones.

My friend told me that once firmware of the phone upgraded then phone will work SIP technology.

Can Avaya 1608 IP work with SIP technology?

Please provide information regarding firmware upgrade.

The same response was posted to your query on the other forum..

There is SIP software for the 1603SW-I which is only compatible with Avaya Aura. There is no SIP software for the 1608 or 1616.
