Hi Everyone,
I have a 9608 running 6.2 firmware on CM 5.2.1. The phone has been configured to connect to our Checkpoint VPN.
When I connect the phone to our corp network, it grabs the 6x1Hupgrade.txt and the 46xxsettings.txt files each time it boots, regardless of if a change has been made or not.
When I connect the phone to a cable modem, it successfully connects to the VPN and then immediately registers to the call server. It never checks or downloads the settings files.
This concerns me as my 46xx phones did not behave this way. I'm concerned that if I need to make a change to the settings files, folks working remotely from VPN phones will not be able to grab the changes.
I'm using the same VPN parameters for the 46xx and 96xx phones.
The Fix -
Looks like the problem was the phones are not getting DHCP information from the VPN firewall. So I had to manually enter the file server address on each phone and now they grab the settings file before registering. Still need to figure out why he DHCP scope isn't working correctly for the VPN phones but as least this lets me proceed with the project. If anybody has any advise we're running a Checkpoint firewall/VPN.
Can anybody else confirm if this is the new normal for these phones?
Thanks!
