i2050 error "network card not found"

We have deployed numerous i2050 softphones with no problems or incidents. Recently when the i2050 was deployed to six users we had only 50% success. Three of the phones worked great, and three of them all return a message when launched that says "network card not found".

• cs1000 rls 7.5
• Dell E6410 Laptops with Win 7 64, A13 bios, built in NIC version 11.6.92 intel 82577LM Gigabit Network Connection
• 2050 softphone 4.x

Have performed all installations manually, not being pushed over the network or using third party software delivery. These 6 laptops sit side by side, and it's tough to explain to the end users why only half of them work when they are on identical hardware and software configurations..
Any thoughts on this would help, because I am baffled.
