    Avaya 9641g and 9608 IP phone registeration problem

    Hi

    This is my first time configuring Avaya VoIP system and I'm using the 6.2 VM environment. After I entered the extension number and password, the phone could not register itself to the call sever(CM) or SM. I tried to sign the IP addresses on the phone statically however; the phone was stuck on the “registering” screen. There is no routing problem since I can ping from the server to the phone and vice versa. All the virtual machines are working. Licenses and authentication files are installed.

    The phone can talk to the DHCP server, under the DHCP leases I can see the phone’s IP address and the MAC address. At this point I have no idea where I did wrong, will it be something wrong when I added the station? For the Station Extension, except the type of the phone everything else I used the default setting

    Any help would be greatly appreciated

    If you have static IP assigned on the phone. Check the status station <extension number>. Alternatively you can run " list trace ras " on SAT to see any denial event or look for any clue. You can also sniff the phone to see the problem and then proceed towards solution. if nothing is working out for you then get Avaya Backbone support to resolve your issue.
