    Call processing on a G650

We have 2 campuses that contain our phone infrastructure. On one campus we have a local G650 (Campus A). On the other campus is our S8730 server (Campus B). (This is the simplified version.) My question is for long distance calling from campus A, do the calls get processed and sent out of the local G650 or do they have to traverse the network and are then processed and completed using the equipment on Campus B? We have seen some performance issues and are trying to understand where the calls are actually processed. Thanks.

All processing is done by the server, however the trunks that are used by the call are determined by the route patterns that are set up. If there are trunks administered on Campus A that would be preferred you can set a different location for each campus and the use location routing to send the call over the appropriate trunk. I.E. Location 1 = campus A, Location 2 = campus B. location 1 can be administered via ars location table to route a call to 720 444 1657 over trunk group 1 which has a physical board at the Campus A location, while location 2 can be administered via ars to send that same call over a trunk group that is local to that campus, for example trunk group 2. But the actual processing will be handled by the s8730, the resource used for the call can be changed so that a local resource is used saving the call from traversing the network.

I hope that makes sense, if not just give me a call and I can try to explain it in a little more detail. My number is above.
