dhcp scope ip-address or dns name

    hi

    I have a S8800 with Cm 5.2.1.
    9620 stations
The customer has a Dhcp scope 242 with MCIPADD=16.13.141.142,16.13.152.138,cm21,cm11,cm12 ,cm31,145.16.28.2,145.16.28.137
The phones boot up -> broadcast -> receive voice vlan - > waiting for LLDP
and stay thar way for a long time
Is it allowd to put a ip-address and a dns name in the same scope for MCIPADD ?
I know ip-address =ok and dns name = ok but together in one string ??
    thx

    Hi,

    To answer your query:-
Is it allowd to put a ip-address and a dns name in the same scope for MCIPADD ?

As per "4600/9600 Series IP Telephones Administrator Guide"
We can use either of the following strings:-

    MCIPADD=
    xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx,MCPORT=yyyy,TFTPDIR=<path>,TFTPSRVR=

    zzz.zzz.zzz.zzz
    OR
    MCIPADD=
    {list of DNS names}, MCPORT=yyyy, TFTPDIR=<path>, TFTPSRVR= {list of DNS names}

So it is recommended not to use the IP addresses and the DNS names in the same scope for MCIPADD.

For the issue with the phone registrations, I would recommend to open a new AVAYA support ticket in case a detailed troubleshooting is required.
