Can a SM replace a SPS from NES

    Hi,

I would like to know if it's possible to replace a NES SPS by a Session Manager. We currently have a SPS that is used to connect our offices in Madrid and Lisbon via SIP trunks and also for connecting to an OCS 2007 R2. Is it possible to replace the SPS by a SM and integration between OCS and Nortel for RCC still work fine. At the same time we would integrate a CM-ES to the SM and have the possibility to register Avaya endpoints with enhanced SIP funtionalities.

I could not find any information on the NES SPS but it appears by your description that it is a SIP device handling SIP trunks. So it is certainly possible to replace it with a Session Manager. The issue would be lack of application notes covering this connectivity. You can find avaya application notes at Solution Integration Lab:
