Can anyone give me step-by-step on how to set-up an vdn and vector. I created a vdn but how do you record the voicemail on it and how do I redirect (or route) it to vector?

Hello,
When you add a VDN , it will prompt to specify a vector number (by default it takes vector -1) . You can run "change vector <number>" and provide the steps you need ( call center guide in the product document should give you some info about this).
If you are talking about Announcements (voice message), then you need to record an announcement on a VAL board or MG and then you can use a announcement step in the vector.

In brief, VDN's are numbers that are dialed to reach a vector.
Vectors provide call processing and call treatments to the callers that call into a VDN.
Announcements are available if you have VAL boards. That's the one I'm most familiar with.
Anyway, used add VDN to get into setting up VDN's.
You can use change vector to get into vector processing.
Use add announcement to set up the "voice mail" on it.
First record something on the VAL board for the new announcement. There are many steps to this as well. Then the VDN may be x1234. VDN 1234 is set to vector 5. In Vector 5, you do a
1. wait 2 sec hearing silence
2. disconnect after announcement "xxxx"
3. stop
I'd recommend going to Avaya Support Site >> Products and start reading the docs on Call Center Elite, BCMS, Vectors and VDN's. One cannot go step-by-step in terms of vectors and VDN's in the space of a forum post.
Hope that helps.
