ASAP - Do I Need Additional Card Like CG6565 For IVR?

    Dear all,

My company has just bought Avaya PBX system from local vendor, but exclude an IVR system. IVR system is provided by another vendor. IVR vendor stated that we need to buy additional E1 card for IVR server, the card is CG6565 from Dialogic. As I have heard from PBX vendor presentation, all Avaya "devices" are talking to each other using LAN, and no more using specific card like before.

What I want to ask here is, do we still need additional card for IVR server?
Can IVR just using LAN to talk with Avaya PBX?

Just info we are going to use G450 Media Gateway and S8700 server.

    Thank you

    Hello,

The older Avaya IVR systems required Dialogic cards for PBX integration. However the newer ones like Voice Oortal don't require Dialogic card.

So it basically depends on what IVR system you are using. For that third party IVR please get the integration document from Avaya and it clearly mention the requirements from PBX side.

    Thanks,
