    SO-Error

    Hi

In the ecs log files we can see that there is a few HIGH SO-Errors. after looking into it I run the 'serialnumber' command from the bash and can see that the processor is not aware of all the serial numbers of the connected Media Gateways. They are all registered and working fine and I believe to fix this we need to go into the MG and run an IP command, I dont have that to hand right now. However I would like to know what the implications are of leaving this like this?

serialnumber displays serial number shows UNKNOWN.

There are no service impacting results and therefore the MG will be in service and working fine. The only problem you might experience is when your CM is licensed to one of those MGs and CM might enter into license error mode.

      ip license-server command

The MG command you're looking for is "ip license-server" and needs to be executed on each of those MGs.

Use the ip license-server command to enable the media gateway to supply a hardware
serial number on behalf of an S85XX local survivable processor (LSP). The serial number is required when an S85XX LSP registers with its primary controller (S8400 or S85XX Server) using the Processor Ethernet interface.

The serial number might also be required if the S85XX is a primary controller, but is using Processor Ethernet exclusively with H.248 media gateways. In this case, the S85XX does not have an IPSI-controlled gateway to use for its hardware license verification There must be at least one H.248 media gateway (G700, G250, G350, G450, G430, or IG550) for each LSP in the main server’s network. Only one LSP or
primary controller can use the serial number of a media gateway for license verification.

      Example
To enable the serial number assignment to an LSP:
      G450-001(super)# ip license-server
