IP Office 500 v2 -- Ring multiple extensions implementation

    Hello,

I'm new to the Avaya platform and was wondering what is the best way to implement a particular scenario. In particular, we have a user that has 3 extensions -- 2 in his primary office (one on his desk and one on a table) and the 3rd extension is in his remote office.

Ideally, we would like all 3 extensions to ring when his private number is called. We currently have it configured such that the external number is routed to his private number and is forwarded to his desk phone. The table phone is twinned to the desk phone. However, you can only "twin" two phones, not three, hence the phone in the remote office will never ring.

What is the "best" way to ring all 3 extensions?

    Thanks!

Take the desk extension 201 and make it 301. Then create a Hunt Group with the 201 original desk's extension ID, and assign the two other extensions + 301 to the HG, select Group Ring with Call Waiting from the drop-down.

Second way of doing this - Create the hunt group with Group Ring + Call Waiting, and assign the 3 extensions to it, then finally change the incoming call route table to route to this new Hunt Group.

Okay -- the above makes sense. However, we want to ensure the user only has to maintain a single mailbox. Is it possible for the user to, easily, check the voicemail associated with his "main" extension when he is working remotely?

      Thank you!

I would suggest you take the 2nd approach, making a Collective-Call Waiting hunt group with 201 and the other 2 extensions in it, and pointing the incoming number to that hunt group. That way, the original extension 201 still appears as 201 when making internal calls, and can be reached directly by its currently "known to everyone" extension number. Only incoming calls to the DID number ring all 3 phones simultaneously.

If you have Voicemail Pro, make a Leave action for the hunt group and have it leave voicemail for 201

If you have Essential, make a shortcode such as *601, Voicemail Collect, "#"201. Create a user such as 601, call it Mailbox201, and forward it (including hunt group calls) to *601. Create a new Sequential hunt group, such as 691, call it Mbx 201, and put only Ext. 601 in it. Go back to the hunt group 301, turn Voicemail OFF, and make it overflow after 25 seconds (or so) to hunt group 691.
