4612 ip phone

I have a Avaya 4612 ip phone.
During boot up I do not get the prompt "* to program"
Anybody know how to fix this
It tries to do dhcp and I don't want it to do dhcp
Can't reprogram it

It might be that the phone booted with a 46xxsettings file where PROCSTAT was set to 1, which disables the local craft menu.

Only way to fix this is to set this parameter to 0 in the 46xxsettings file and have the phone boot using DHCP and download the updated file. The line to add/edit in the file would be:

SET PROCSTAT 0
