It has been a policy to set network switch ports and PC NICs to auto/auto, we have some sites that have 100 mbps switch ports, we installed a 9611 the phys1 negotiates at 100m and the phys2 port negotiates to 1000m.
I know we can manually set phys2 to 100m, also set this in 46xxsettings and dhcp 242. My question is what's the best practice, will it cause issues with leaving everything auto/auto on the phone and allow PC to the phone at 1gig and phone to switch port 100m? Can the phys2 port be set to auto negotiate to 100 meg max?
