    MM5 Problems

    Team,
I recently upgraded to MM5.XX and have a few problems. One of the problems this group addressed and it is working for some folks. However the fix / settings I already have in place but still have issues.
    1) Some users have a message but MWI does not come on at all times.
    2) Some users dont have a message but MWI is on. A message has to be left before MWI comes on. After deleting that message, MWI goes off. At some point it comes on again for a few. I just dont know how.
    3) Users have messages but it does not allow them to hear the header (press 2 to get messages). It immediately starts with the option to delete. This appears to be with messages that are less than 2/3 seconds in length only.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Hi,

So it seems that you have 2 issues:
    1. MWI issue: Try ot do a MWI database rebuilt on the mas that has MWI service running.
Stop mailbox monitor,MWI and call me service
    Goto C:\Program files\Avaya Modular Mesaging\MWI
    rename mwistate.mdb to mwistate.mdb.old
Start mailbox monitor,MWI and call me service
You will see lot of MWI set/reset request in ophist viewer. Let it complete the rebuild, it should take more than 20 minutes max. They test with the mailboxes that have reported issue with MWI.
    2. The messages that you are reffering to could be DSN messages, they are generated if there is a failure in sending a message out. you wouldnot be able to delete such messages. ADE released service pack to ignore such messages i.e. they wouldnot be prompted to the user. But if this is happening too frequently then you might want to open a case with BBE.

Team, I have solved the problems my users were experiencing and do hope that is the end of it.
The solution was that on the MAS, I went to Telephone User Interface. Then under General Tab, I changed the Default time from 3 second to 5 seconds.
So far I have not had any complaints since the change.
