    MSS alarm call out

    It seems like everytime I install an MSS no matter what version, 3.1, 4.0, 5.1, 5.2 the alarming part never calls out.

    I have an MM 4.0 that we just upgraded to 5.2. The MSS will not alarm out. There is dialtone on the modem and if I put a test set on the line I can call out fine. When I trace the station in the switch and try to send a test alarm, the MSS never even takes the line off hook. So it doesn't even try to dial out. I can dial into the MSS just fine.

    I tried removing the modem and adding it back in but that did not help.

    In the past I have opened a ticket and an Avaya technician has fixed it. I would like know how to fix this myself so I don't have to open a ticket everytime this happens.

    Is anyone else having the same issue?

    Hi,

    Please check the following to confirm that alarming is configured correctly:
    1. In MSS Alarming configuration, make sure it is configured correctly.
    2. Confirm the number it is supposed to alarm out.

    Also the reasons why alarming is not working could be different for different systems. More investigation by a BBE is necessary so that they can give you the steps they took to fix the issue.
