    MM 5.2 SP upgrade

Hello everyone. I attempted to update the SP on a Modular Messaging 5.2 from SP 6 to SP 8. My login has full admin permissions, and I am able to look at and change the state of the MM services. However when I try to disable the ports for the T1, I receive and error saying that I do not have permissions to do that. The server administrator tells me that it is an Avaya issue and not a Windows issue. I do not feel comfortable about proceeding with the upgrade. Has anyone out there experienced this? Thank you.

This could predominantly be an account that is being used issue. In MM we have multiple accounts like:
    -- Domain Admin
    -- Cust Admin
    -- Service Account

Please ensure that you are using the account that is mentioned as the installer account on the MSS - Windows Domain Setup. Usually custacct works.

If you have any further questions, please log in a ticket with the Backbone support Team.

Look in the MSS and find the account that was used to add the MSS to the domain. Try that account for your SP installation. You know you have the correct account if you can access the SAMBA share on the MAS. In the Run window type //mss1 and press the enter key. If you can see the contents of the SAMBA share folders you have the correct account for loading your service pack.
