Hi All new to the IP Office so after some advice customer has IP Office R11 and purchased J179 handsets now they also want JEM24 button modules attached. They have connected them to the phones but say nothing happen no buttons appear. On IP Office do you have to tell the station that it has a button module in programming or just add the buttons? I cant see where you would add a button module in programming?
How to add JEM 24 button module on J179

The button modules are automatically detected.
The first step is always to restart the phone with the module attached. ie. remove and reapply power.
In the phone's own menus, you should see the button module listed. If you go to the main menu and select Settings | Display | Contrast, the button module should be listed. If not then its either not attached correctly or it has a fault.

The phones and sidecar need to be on SIP 4.0 firmware
Download the J100-IPT-SIP-R4_0_0_1-031919.zip , SIP 4.0.x file from support.avaya.com
On your IP 500 via Embedded File Manager, in the Primary folder, find the file called J100Supgrade.txt and delete it.
From the zip file, upload the new version of J100Supgrade.txt
Upload all of the FW____.bin files
Reboot your phone and it will upgrade.
As far as programming the buttons, the phone has 3 pages of 8 buttons, so the sidecar starts with the 25th button. The JEM24 is really nice, because it has 3 pages of 24 buttons, giving you a DSS that can display 72 buttons!Last edited by thiel2; 05-09-2019, 09:13 AM.
