    Does BCM450 support direct SIP

    Hello,

    We have an Avaya BCM 450 system.

    I am in the process of configuring an Exchange UM server. I need to know if the BCM450 supports direct SIP or not.

    Hi Paul

    SIP on the BCM has been developed with the intention of voice communications, early versions for interoperability with other Nortel products and currently with functionality enhanced to include public SIP trunking.

    If a remote node conforms to the relevant SIP RFC's then communications "should" work, however I believe what you are trying to achieve would not have been officially tested as it would be outside the scope of what the BCM has been designed for.

    I would recommend to test in your labs prior to implementing on site or committing to a working scenario. Due to many enhancements through the versions, test with R6.0
