IP Office - Map User extension and POTS port

    Hi

Apologies in advance for the basic nature of this question. I've spent a few days on various websites but cannot find an answer.

I've inherited ownership of a legacy IP Office implementation. It is to be replaced with a new system in 2013, however I would like to be able to make some configuration changes before this occurs.

The system is an IP Office 406 with an IP Phone 400 16 POTS. I am using version 5.0 (69) of the IP Office Manager application for configuration.

We have a number of users setup who have analogue phones which are routed via specific ports on the POTS extension, however I cannot see any option in the Manager application to make the configuration link between the User and the Port.

From Logging, I can see that there must be some configuration somewhere as an attempt to call this user results in the following, which maps the extension 216 to the Port 14:

    5950299mS CD: CALL: 5.8.1 BState=Idle Cut=1 Music=0.0 Aend="Line 5" (7.2) Bend="MacdonaD(216)" [MacdonaD] (0.0) CalledNum=216 () CallingNum=07919527907 (PaulGardiner(Mobile)) Internal=0 Time=5 AState=Dialled
    5950302mS CMExtnTx: v=216, p1=14

Thanks in advance to anyone who can point me in the correct direction.

    Best regards
    Paul

In the User form you have an extension number and in the Extension form you have an extension number, when the system boots up if the numbers match and the user does not have forced login turned on the user will automatically get logged into this extension. This is one way how they get mapped to each other. You can also use a feature called hot desking. When you hot desk (log into) a user on a physical extension it will be mapped temporarily in the system.
