    Speed Dial Short Code

First of all I am novice at this so please bear with me.

We recently had IP 500 r8 installed, I am using IP Office 10.0 (44). Our phones are T7316e. I can not get speed dial to function. Reviewing the system short codes for speed dail, none.
Individual user extensions for speed dial short codes, none. If I program a few personal stored numbers into the phone, and assign a button for speed dial directory number or any of the other directory location shorts 01,02,03 etc., it returns incompatable on the phone when pressed. Also incompatable if feature 0 is used.

I did try adding short code to personal extension from manager, *0N#, incompatable.

Basically I need help in layman terms.

Do I need special short code in the Office Manager ( system or for each extension - user ) and if so, please give me example code.

I have read as much pdf documentation as I can find on Manager and Phone programming and use. Tried all the examples. I am at a loss, or at least a loss of experience in this field.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

First of all I am trying to narrow down if this problem belongs to the IP Office or the T7316E phone. So if I understood you correctly, you mean the Speed Dial function doesn't work in either of the situation if you try to configure it as a button on your phone set or if you try adding a "Speed Dial" System Short code via IP Office Manager Application. Right?

Now, here's what I would ask you to do:

    1) In order to narrow down this further, may I ask you to replace your handset and see if the Speed Dial does work on any other phone or not.
    2) If it does, then the problem lies with the End Point (T7316e phone).
    3) If it doesn't work by either of the ways on a different phone set, could you please capture a systmon trace of the events while you try to access the Speed dial feature on the phone.
    4) Please add a brief but specific trace in order for us to look into it further.

    Thanks
    Amit Papreja

      Solved Thank You

I just got back to this. I was able to find a problem with the configuration set up by the installer that basically invalidated any attempts to execute speed dial function. I used a generic configuration and reworked it to meet our needs.

Now all is working and when a new speed dial is prorammed into the phone set it appears in the Office Manager correctly. Also was able to identify that what I thought was " speed dail " is in fact called " Abreviated Dial ". Got that to fuction also with my reworked config.

Thank You for your reply and many views.
