    Novice looking for help.

    Hi,
I have recently purchased a secondhand Avaya IP403 office with an IP400 phone and digital terminal add-on for my small business. I have downloaded Avaya IP office and connected the PC directly to the unit with a cat5e patch lead. But I am failing to get the two to communicate. I have also tried connecting via USB to no avail. Ideally I would like to reset or reconfigure the system as it still has the last companies settings on it. I am a fully qualified electrician but a relative novice when it comes to IT (especially phone systems!).
Is this something I can do myself or will I have to source outside help?

you better call i a tech.

Do you know the IP address of the 403? Your laptop will have to be set to the same subnet as the IPO so they can talk....

If you dont know the IP, you will need to DTE the box through teh serial cable, but I have seen good technicians that can not do this....

Again, call in a business partner.
